pedalboards and design

Whether you have all the materials ready to build but aren’t sure where to start, or you need everything built and ready for your pedals, I’ve done it. Pedalboards and power supplies are readily available but not everyone wants/likes/ or has means to solder their own cables. A well built, well designed pedalboard will allow you to show up to the show or rehearsal, plug in and play without worrying if something is going to fail.

Areas to address are outlined below

Signal Routing

There is no right or wrong when it comes to signal routing – it’s up to you the player. However, if you’re not sure what’s best or how to fully realize your sound, I can suggest a certain order and explain it’s advantages. I’ll work with you to come up with routing that makes sense both physically and electronically.

Cables – Signal and Power

I use Evidence Audio Monorail  and Switchcraft Jacks for for all pedal interconnect cables. If you have pre-made store bought cables that just need resizing, I’ll gladly accommodate to help keep costs down. The same goes for the power supply cables usually provided with your power supply.

Power Supply

Today’s Guitar players who use multiple effects are very fortunate compared to those less than 20 years ago. There are more guitar pedalboard specific power supplies available now than ever before. There’s a good reason for that. They’re needed.
Simple 2 to 3 pedal set ups could get by with simple daisy chasing of power but  beyond that, my experience has shown you’re better served with a suitable multi output isolated unit.

Custom Cases

For all pedalboards requiring Airline proof flight cases, I use Engineered Case Manufacturing.
